ROM files are not provided
pokemonsoulgold.com does not host, provide or link to copyrighted Pokemon ROM files. The Download page provides a SoulGold patch and a browser-based patching interface. Users must supply their own legally obtained compatible Pokemon Emerald ROM.
Patch distribution
The SoulGold patch contains project changes intended to be applied to a compatible base game. A patch file is not a playable Pokemon ROM by itself.
Base ROM compatibility
The recommended compatible source is the Pokemon Emerald TrashMan dump. This information is provided for technical compatibility only and is not an instruction or link for obtaining copyrighted game data.
